I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 17 years of experience working in adult mental health, both within the NHS and private organisations in London.
I provide psychological therapy and counselling sessions to clients with a wide variety of mental health issues ranging from everyday difficulties and transitions in life (i.e. Low self esteem, Divorce, redundancies, bullying, loss, moving countries etc) to more established diagnoses and chronic symptoms ( I.e. Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma, personality disorders etc)
I have a particular interest in eating disorders and the factors that influence peoples’ relationship with food and I have been working for the last couple of years with a very well known nutritionist in Harley street.
I am trained in the application of several therapeutic models and I do specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)and third wave CBT (e.g. mindfulness, acceptance commitment therapy). I have extensive experience applying this model in community mental health teams and in the private sector. However I believe that peoples’ needs are very specific and cannot always be met by one therapeutic model. I would therefore always choose the best suited type of therapy according to their presenting problem and expectations from therapy in order to maximise their benefit.
I provide face to face and Skype therapy for busy individuals and people who prefer to engage in sessions from the comfort of their homes.
I am involved in teaching, supervising trainees and qualified psychologists. I am an accredited member of British Psychological Society (BPS) and The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and abide by their code of conduct and ethics. I believe that the most important component in therapy is the establishment of a strong therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client. This can enable people not only to overcome difficulties, dilemmas, symptoms and obstacles in life But often empowers people to engage in a very positive journey of self knowledge, control and growth.
